Nutritional Management: Providing Nutrition for Critically Ill Patients

Nutritional support is a critical component of veterinary care for critically ill patients. Proper nutrition aids in recovery, maintains organ function, and prevents complications associated with malnutrition. This discussion will focus on assessing the critically ill patient’s metabolic state, determining nutritional requirements, and selecting the most appropriate feeding method.

Vets Pets

We believe in the power of learning, leading, and lifting others up. Over the past few weeks, our team has been out and about—creating community, sharing knowledge, and investing in the future of veterinary medicine. Whether we’re mentoring the next generation, contributing to meaningful conversations in our field, or strengthening community around our practices, we’re proud to support the growth of veterinary professionals and the care they provide to pets and their families.

NCSU CVM Student Lunch & Learn,
March 31, 2025

On March 31, Dr. Shannon Bass, VP of Medical Leadership, and Lindsay Carrier, DVM Recruiter, hosted a lunch and learn at NC State College of Veterinary Medicine alongside student ambassadors Lauren Hirsch and Sydney MacDonald. The topic: “Career Crossroads: So Many Options – How Do I Choose?” It was a practical conversation about navigating early career decisions in veterinary medicine.

We always welcome the chance to spend time with the next generation of veterinary professionals, sharing what we’ve learned and hearing what matters most to them.

Haw River Animal Hospital Celebrates Its First Anniversary

On the first Saturday of Spring, Haw River Animal Hospital celebrated one year of serving the Pittsboro community with a fun anniversary event.

Guests were treated to snacks and beverages provided by local community partners while exploring behind-the-scenes tours of the hospital’s services. Led by Dr. Katie Sizer and the Haw River team, these tours highlighted the hospital’s commitment to fear-free veterinary care and dedication to the health and well-being of Pittsboro’s pets. Here’s to many more years of service, veterinary care, and community!

The veterinary profession offers both challenges and rewards. It’s crucial to pause regularly and acknowledge the positive experiences within your hospitals. We will start sharing a review each week from around the company. If you have a review you’d like to share, please respond to this email or reach out to marketing@thevetspets.com.

This week’s review acknowledges the team at Rolesville Veterinary Hospital. Well done!

“So friendly and helpfully! They take such a good care of our girl Bailey. Never turned away if you have question or need help. Thanks to all of you!”
