Celebrating Six Months of Compassionate Care at Wake Veterinary Medical Center!
We are thrilled to mark six months of expanded specialty services—Medical Oncology and Internal Medicine—at Wake Veterinary Medical Center.
In just half a year, the Wake Vet team has had the privilege of supporting countless pets and their families through complex diagnoses and treatment plans. Whether it’s developing personalized cancer therapies or managing internal medicine cases with care and precision, the goal remains the same: expert veterinary care, delivered with heart.
Navigating a pet’s health journey can be tough. That’s why it is so special to continue to grow services to walk beside clients with sick pets—with compassion, clarity, and unwavering support.

Thank you to Dr. Shannon Bass, Vice President of Medical Leadership, and Lindsay Carrier, DVM Recruiter, at Vets Pets, along with our fantastic NC State College of Veterinary Medicine student ambassadors, Lauren Hirsch and Sydney MacDonald, for hosting an insightful lunch on the topic, “Career Crossroads: So Many Options – How Do I Choose?” It was a great opportunity to dive into the real-world insights that come with making those big career decisions.
Haw River Animal Hospital Celebrates Its First Anniversary
On the first Saturday of Spring, Haw River Animal Hospital celebrated one year of serving the Pittsboro community with a fun anniversary event.
Guests were treated to snacks and beverages provided by local community partners while exploring behind-the-scenes tours of the hospital’s services. Led by Dr. Katie Sizer and the Haw River team, these tours highlighted the hospital’s commitment to fear-free veterinary care and dedication to the health and well-being of Pittsboro’s pets. Here’s to many more years of service, veterinary care, and community!
