Vets Pets Teams Attend IVECCS
Members of our Vets Pets community gathered in sunny San Diego from September 4–8 to immerse themselves in IVECCS 2025. This event is the premier veterinary emergency and critical care symposium. Hosted at the San Diego Convention Center, the event brought together veterinarians, technicians, practice managers, students, and educators for a week packed with learning, networking, and innovation.
Vets Pets Day is Almost Here!
We are just weeks away from Vets Pets Day! Join us on Saturday, September 27 from 12:00 to 5:00 PM at Haven of Knightdale for an afternoon filled with community, laughter, and connection. Guests can look forward to casino games for adults, inflatable bull riding, bounce houses for kids, delicious food and drinks, and plenty more surprises throughout the day.
Please take a moment to RSVP “yes” or “no” so we can plan for everyone. We cannot wait to celebrate!
Walk. Ride. Run. Keep Up The Good Work!
The weather outside has been inconsistent, but our Purr-fect Pace Challenge is still on track through the end of September. Our teams have been steady through the ups and downs of the weather to keep it moving! Send us your wet weather walk, run, and cycle pictures!

* These rankings are not final; we will do a final calculation at the end of the month, as biking counts as 1/3 of a mile.

Breathing Easy: Understanding the Anesthesia Machine
A comprehensive overview of the basic principles behind anesthesia machines and the flow of gases during anesthesia procedures. We will cover the essential components of both the rebreathing and non-rebreathing systems, including the oxygen source, vaporizer, one-way valves, and scavenging system. Choosing the appropriate size breathing circuit and reservoir bag for each patient will be covered. Finally, we will review the importance of managing and minimizing waste anesthetic gas (WAG) exposure to protect both veterinary staff and the environment. The session will conclude with practical tips for safely handling and minimizing WAG exposure.

“I want to say from the bottom of my heart thank you. Tuesday the 15-25 was the start of the worst day for us. There was a freak accident. From the time we called to bring in our dog to the phone calls to the next day having to put our dog down. You 3 made this horrible experience a little better. The way you cared for her and showed your love to her even tho you have never seen her and making sure she was not in pain to how professional you ladies where. Just thank you! We will highly recommend this place to all of our friends and family in the event of an emergency. Also thank you all for the card. We will never forget this act of kindness from strangers. Thank you.“
