Welcome to the Vets Pets Weekly Update!

We’re excited to bring you the latest news, updates, and stories from across our North Carolina veterinary practices. Each week, we’ll share important announcements, highlight achievements, and sprinkle some fun along the way.

Your work makes a difference every day, and we want to celebrate you. If you have news or stories to share, please let us know by responding to any of these emails or reaching out to marketing@thevetspets.com.

You’re invited to our second virtual State of the Union, Vets Pets Vision 2025, on Wednesday, August 13, from 12:30 to 1:30 PM.

We will share updates from the past year, highlight challenges we’ve overcome, and celebrate the progress we’ve made together. You’ll also hear where we’re headed next, including strategic goals, upcoming initiatives, and trends shaping the veterinary industry.

This is your chance to stay informed, ask questions, and be part of the conversation about our future.

Jacsyn has been a dedicated member of the New Light team, bringing compassion, positivity, and a true love for animals. Her commitment to veterinary medicine has been clear from the beginning, and we know she will thrive as she continues her education at one of the top veterinary programs in the country.

Please join us in wishing Jacsyn the very best. We are proud of her and excited to see all that she will accomplish.

Moral Injury: Knowing What’s Right, but Not Being Able to Do What’s Right

The simplified definition of moral injury is knowing what’s right, but not being able to do what’s right. In the veterinary profession we are frequently confronted with situations that can result in moral injury. This session will explore moral injury starting with well-known global examples, and then move to the moral injury experienced daily in veterinary medicine. The information will help differentiate moral injury from burnout or compassion fatigue. These three situations are related, and can be overlapping, but understanding the difference is crucial to choosing the best strategies for recognition, healing, and resilience.

The veterinary profession offers both challenges and rewards. It’s crucial to pause regularly and acknowledge the positive experiences within your hospitals. We will start sharing reviews from around the company. If you have a review you’d like to share, please respond to this email or reach out to marketing@thevetspets.com.

This week’s review acknowledges Dr. Edwards and the team at Zebulon Animal Hospital. Well done!

“Dr. Edwards and the ZAH staff are amazing and have kept our animals healthy and improved their quality of life for almost 30 years!”
