I did always think that I wanted to have ownership. Before Veterinary school and in Veterinary school I thought that was a path I wanted to take. After graduating and realizing how difficult it is to be a Veterinarian and how much work it is I really didn’t think that would ever be something that I would do.
But this opportunity has allowed me to participate in ownership that I don’t think I would have done otherwise.
My name is Amy Holvorson, DVM and I’m a partner with Vets Pets. I’ve been working with Vets Pets 2007 when I started here at LaCroix and then I’ve been partner since 2017, so four years.
The most rewarding part of this has been to be able to shape the practice into the practice that I want it to be. And have a voice in how we practice medicine and how we do things here from the way we treat our clients, the way we treat our patients, and the way that we treat our team.
I’d say the thing that suprised me the most about partnership is having the other partners in the group that I could reach out to, ask questions to and get ideas from to learn from them. I never really thought that would be something that would be a possibility.
The thing that has made me the happiest is the support that I get when I ask for it and when I need it. From HR, from the Medical Directors, from Accounting.
