Critical Incident Debriefing, How to Lead Your Team After a Challenging Event
Critical Incidents happen regularly in veterinary practices. These incidents can include dealing with a very aggressive client, significant ethical issues, the death of a co-worker, or a natural disaster. While we might become skilled at dealing with the actual incident, it’s less likely we are skilled in assisting our teams afterwards. This session will describe the components of Critical Incident Stress Management and provide examples of how to use them in veterinary situations. Using models developed for human medicine and first responders, a defusing tool will be presented for use by veterinary teams.
