The Assistant ER/ICU Manager is responsible for directing the ER team through their daily routines and ensuring quality patient care through training and mentoring of staff, as well as assisting the ER/ICU Manager with staffing and administrative duties. The Assistant Manager carries out their duties under the supervision of the veterinarian and reports directly to the ER/ICU Manager. Success in this role requires completion of the provided training task list within 90 days of hire, upholding and promoting hospital policies and procedures, attending monthly management meetings, completing one online training course per month at minimum, maintaining a positive attitude and effective leadership skills, and upholding Vets Pets core values of compassion, integrity, courage, passion, and commitment.
A minimum of two years of experience in emergency veterinary medicine required; RVT preferred. Strongly prefer previous supervisory experience. Candidates must be detail oriented and able to multi-task, as well as promote positivity and collaboration in a fast-paced environment. A strong work ethic and good communication skills are a must.
